In 1982 the Harman family bought a field in the middle of lots of other fields 7 kms from civilization on the coast at Lagos. Everyone thought they were mad! Now many people are envious of the lovely position and the farm that has developed.

In 1992 the Harmans turned Quinta do Paraiso Alto into QPA Riding Centre. The resident horses have been joined by a variety of others, by liveries and competition horses so that now in 2007 there are over 20 horses at QPA and one donkey.

These well run stables are approved by the Association of British Riding Schools(ABRS) and the Portuguese Equestrian federation (FEP). Safety is of the utmost importance. Those without hats will be supplied with BSA standard hats, even boots and chaps if required. The centre has comprehensive insurance for riders.

Jinny Harman has been joined by Sue Wilson to offer a full programme of events from pony rides to full weeks riding through the stunning country-side. Guides and helpers are multi lingual, Portuguese, German and Dutch spoken.
